Doug Reevey - President When Doug joined Autotec in the May of 1997 it was a meeting of two very different worlds. Doug attended Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia and graduated with a degree in business commerce in 1993. From there he went on to work for Ernst & Young in their auditing practice ultimately obtaining his Chartered Accountancy desination in 1996. Looking for a change of scenery after four years in the accounting business he ending up purchasing Autotec Inc in the Fall of 1997 having no automotive experience what so ever. This was a real challenge and great learing experience understanding and reshaping the business from the ground up. In his tenth year with the company and backed by a solid understanding of the business and the industry in which it competes, Doug sees a bright future for Autotec . Living in Rothesay with his wife and two daughters Doug’s other passions include salmon fishing, golf, hockey and gardening.
Peter Floyd – Technician Peter is a licensed technician who has been with Autotec since 1977. Peter has a full range of knowledge and training in all areas of automotive repair however this true skill is in electrical diagnostic and repairs on both foreign and domestic vehicles. It is not uncommon for him to field calls on electrical issues from other local shops. He is also a certified technician on air conditioning systems and advanced electronics. Peter continually upgrades his knowledge to ensure his automotive education is at the highest level by taking full advantage of all training programs available. He is also a great source of information for our younger technicians. Woodworking and spending time at his cottage in Cambridge Narrows are just two of the things Peter does in his spare time. Peter lives in Rothesay with his wife Bev where they raised their three children.
David Doughty - Technician David is a licensed technician who has been with Autotec since 1997. As well as being fully licensed he is also a certified technician on air condition systems. His expertise however lies in driveability diagnostics and repair. David has received extensive training and experience in this area which shows in his work. However this is not to say that he is a stranger to electrical trouble-shooting and diagnotics. Among David’s past accomplishments include obtaining the highest score in the provincial exam which has yet to be matched. All of this adds up to a technician who can provide real value to our clients. Born and raised in England David came to Canada in 1993 with long hair and a guitar in his arms. Now he still enjoys playing music but also spending time with his two children exploring the outdoors where they live in St. Martins.
Graduating in 1993 from the New Brunswick Community College with honours is when Peter started his career as an automotive technician. He obtained his Journeymen status in 1997. Through the years Peter has attended numerous training courses and he specializes in alignments, brakes, steering and suspension. Peter actually left the automotive industry for a short while, trying his hand in the medical / mobility business but has since returned and we are glad he did. Married to his wife Sherry and with their two children, Brittany and Matthew it does not leave Peter a lot of spare time, however when he does gets an opportunity he enjoys fishing, running, motorcycles, football and coaching.
